Chief Syariah Court Judge Datuk Mohd Naim Mokhtar, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a married woman and his former mentee, plans to sue a politician for defaming him

According to New Straits Times, the 54-year-old judge lodged a police report against former UMNO supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam yesterday, 12 January, for spreading slander and committing criminal defamation against him.

In the police report, he denied the accusations against him and said it was all orchestrated by certain individuals to oust him from his position.

Naim claimed that the issue first surfaced on 11 December 2021 after a woman lodged a report against him. He said the woman made wild allegations against him.

"As a matter of fact, I counter lodged a report the very next day and called on the police to investigate the false report which had been lodged by the woman," read the police report.

"I also made it clear in my report that it was all orchestrated by certain individuals who wanted to get rid of me as they were after my post."

He provided the names of the individuals concerned to the police.

Naim also claimed that it is not the first time he has been implicated in similar alleged crimes, as one woman had in the past tried to do the same but failed

The chief Syariah judge said he was shocked to learn that Lokman had uploaded a video on Facebook to implicate him in the alleged sexual assault cases.

His lawyer, Akberdin Abdul Kader, told Free Malaysia Today that a letter of demand for defamation will be sent to Lokman and a writ of summons against him will also be filed at the Kuala Lumpur court.

On Monday, 10 January, Lokman made an hour-long livestream on Facebook, alleging that Naim lay naked on a bed in the house of a married woman

The UMNO man claimed that the victim is a 'Datin' and the wife of a former chief executive officer (CEO), who is bedridden and recovering from his condition at home.

"While he (the former CEO) was at home and was bedridden, Dr Naim went to her house on a pretext of wanting to use her place to perform prayers. He only told her that he wanted to use her place to pray when he was already at the front of her house," Lokmain said.

"What upsets me the most in this case, according to the police report lodged by the Datin and the wife of the former CEO, is that he lay naked on her bed after he said he wanted to pray. I don't know whether did he pray or not."

"When the woman realised he did not come out from the room after some time, she went into the room to check on him and was shocked to find Naim, who is the chief Syariah judge [...], wasn't praying but was lying naked on her bed."

In a video published on Monday, 10 January, Datuk Lokman Noor Adam accused Naim of sexually assaulting two women.

Earlier, Lokman also claimed that the judge had in the past sexually assaulted another woman who was a mentee of him at that time.

Naim is accused of sexually assaulting her "in every way except for penetration".

Lokman added that a mufti in Terengganu had also lodged a police report against Naim over his alleged crime against the woman.
