Kuantan Teacher Spent More Than RM60K For Holiday To Japan Only To Find Out It Was A Scam

Bernama reported that her savings were also used to pay on behalf of her friends first as she did not want to disappoint them.

According to Pahang Commercial Crime Investigation Department head Supt Mohd Wazir Mohd Yusof, the 36-year-old woman paid for a five-day four-night tour package that was supposed to take place on 23 December last year. 

Throughout the year, the victim paid 11 instalments to the suspect by banking into his account for the trip in December. 

“The suspect later called the victim in early December to inform her that the holiday had to be postponed to Jan 7, 2019," said Wazir yesterday, on 28 June.

When the group tried to check-in their flight that afternoon, they discovered that their flight booking number did not exist.

“The victim then found that the hotels supposedly booked by the suspect also did not exist,” Wazir said as quoted by Bernama. 

The teacher had also used her own money to continue with the holiday.

“The suspect gave various excuses when­ever she asked for her money back,” the Supt said.

She finally lodged a police report after the suspect blocked her phone number and Facebook account.
