In an accident that was caught on video, a yellow-coloured DHL truck hit a blue lorry from behind and was seen leaving the scene without slowing down. The impact threw six men off the lorry, which swerved and crashed into a sidewalk at Tanah Merah Coast Road.

The accident happened at 8am yesterday, 27 June

Of the six men on the road — some in orange attire — four were seen recovering quickly, two continued to lie on the road as the others had to render assistance to them.

According to a report in Yahoo News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that its officers responded at about 8.05am to the accident site.

The six men, aged between 31 and 40, at the scene were attended to by SCDF paramedics and were conscious when they were taken to Changi General Hospital.

While police said the investigations are ongoing, a spokesman from DHL reached out to media to say that they are aware of the incident

The DHL spokesperson said that the accident involved a subcontractor operating the yellow vehicle on behalf of DHL Global Forwarding Singapore.

"To our knowledge, two passengers from the other vehicle have been warded at the hospital," said the spokesperson, as reported by the Straits Times.

"The subcontractor has made a police report and is currently assisting the police with their investigations," the DHL spokesperson said, adding that DHL will be reviewing the safety standards with their partners and subcontractors.
