Malaysiakini reported that the man, who is in his 50s, was arrested on 24 June by local police.

According to Sin Chew Daily, he is currently out on police bail while investigations on the case are ongoing.

The man allegedly offered to be the victim's sugar daddy on 23 June

According to Malaysiakini, the student claimed that the lecturer called her to his office at around 9am on 23 June before locking the door behind her.

The suspect then proposed a RM500 monthly payment to the victim as her "sugar daddy", which included sex and "other activities" such as holding her breasts.

Sinar Harian reported that the victim immediately rejected the man's request.

However, the student claimed that the man stopped her from leaving the room before she agreed to meet him the following day.

"He allowed me to leave the room and asked me to take a photograph with him. Suddenly, he held my shoulders, pulled me towards him, and tried to kiss me on the lips," the student said in her police report, according to Malaysiakini.

The victim managed to dodge the suspect and left the room.

The case was then reported to the police by the victim on 24 June

Sin Chew Daily reported that the suspect offered to pay for sexual favours again after calling the victim to his office on 24 June.

The 19-year-old then decided to lodge a police report after the incident as she feared that the suspect would do the same to other students.

"I hope the authorities will take appropriate action on the lecturer as he has traumatised me, especially as I continue to study at this college," the student added in her report, according to Malaysiakini.

The student's report was confirmed by the Dungun district police

Dungun district police chief Supt Baharuddin Abdullah told Sinar Harian that the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage modesty.
