TikTok-Famous 'Abang Bas' Arrested For Recording Inappropriate Videos With Schoolgirls
He uploaded videos of himself playing with the young schoolgirls, even touching the lips of one sleeping girl and addressing another as his "crush".
A 24-year-old TikTok-famous school bus driver has been arrested in Johor following an uproar over his actions involving young schoolgirls.
He uploaded videos of himself playing with them, even touching the lips of one sleeping girl and addressing another as his "crush".
Johor police chief CP M Kumar said the suspect, known as 'Abang Bas' on TikTok, was arrested at 2.57am on 6 September at an undisclosed location in Simpang Renggam, near Kluang.
He said the arrest was conducted by a team from the Kluang police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) after being alerted by Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
The minister was responding to an online post on X (formerly Twitter), which alleged that the school bus driver's behaviour of recording and uploading videos of the young schoolgirls was inappropriate and could be considered sexual harassment of children.
"This behaviour is not accepted and shouldn't be normalised," Nancy said, adding that she has instructed the Child Development Department to act against the culprit.
The TikTok account, which has since been deleted, had more than 600,000 followers. The account primarily featured schoolgirls.
Before his account was deleted, he also ran a subscription-based service on his TikTok account.

The bus driver is being investigated for constantly following or watching a child by any means under multiple Malaysia laws
Kumar said investigations into the case will be under Section 15 (a)(iii) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 15(2) of the Child Act 2001.
These sections relate to issues regarding child pornography and the publication of images of children who are under legal protection, according to a report by the Malay Mail.
He could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of RM30,000 if found guilty.
Meanwhile, Kumar urged the parents of the affected children to come forward to assist with the investigation.
He also advised parents to monitor their children for any signs of emotional distress or physical abuse.
