The police said in a statement later that the incident occurred on Saturday, 2 April, around 5.30pm in Bandar Pinggiran Subang

According to Bernama, Petaling Jaya district deputy police chief Supt Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said they gave chase after the suspect attempted to run over patrol officers who tried to flag him down to inspect his car.

The police fired a shot at the tyre of the suspect's car when he tried to ram them, but he still managed to speed off.

This led to a 30-minute chase that was partly caught on the viral video.
