Video Shows Front Passenger Thrown From Myvi After Driver Recklessly Swerves On MRR2
The driver, who is a part-time actor, has since been arrested.
Earlier this week, a video clip went viral, showing a Perodua Myvi driver swerving the car recklessly between several lanes and vehicles
The Myvi was being driven by a part-time local actor in his 30s.
According to Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak, the driver recklessly changed lanes, leading to him losing control of the vehicle.
"This caused the driver to ram into the left rear end of a Toyota Innova. The collision resulted in the front passenger of the Myvi being thrown out of the vehicle onto the road," he said in a statement.
The accident happened on Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) on Tuesday evening, 27 December.
The case is being investigated for reckless driving
If found guilty, he can be sentenced to five years in jail, fined RM15,000, and barred from driving for no less than five years under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The Myvi driver was detained after he came to lodge a police report.
According to Farouq, the police will apply for a remand order.
