Video Of Tesla Model Y Burning In Puchong Goes Viral
It is currently uncertain what caused the fire.
Videos of a Tesla Model Y engulfed in flames have gone viral on social media over the past two days
According to Utusan Malaysia, the incident took place on Jalan Puchong Jaya in Puchong, Selangor at 8pm on Monday, 16 October.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said 70% of the electric vehicle (EV) was burned. No casualties were reported.
A team of seven personnel and two fire engines from the Puchong station were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 8.32pm.
"The fire was completely extinguished by the Fire Department, and (the case has been) handed over to the forensic department for further action.
"It is understood that the owner of the vehicle parked it there to get some food," Astro Awani quoted Ahmad Mukhlis as saying.

Footage of the incident shows that the flames were concentrated at the front of the EV instead of its underside, where its high-voltage battery is located
Local automotive site CariCarz reported that the Fire and Rescue Department extinguished the fire within 10 minutes.
Extinguishing EV fires poses a significant challenge due to several factors, such as the high energy density of lithium-ion batteries, the flammable character of their electrolyte, and the restricted accessibility to the battery packs.
According to Tesla's emergency response guide on its Model Y, authorities are advised to monitor the battery for at least 24 hours to prevent re-ignition, as a burning battery may take up to a day to cool off.
It is currently uncertain what caused the fire.
