A Malaysian woman got the fright of her life after discovering an unsavoury reptilian ingredient in her nasi lemak bungkus

The woman, who goes by ffaateha on TikTok, posted a video of her shocking discovery on the platform, in which a dead house gecko could be seen perched atop her nasi lemak and condiments.

According to Goody Malaysia, the woman had purchased the offending nasi lemak bungkus from a roadside stall.

Irked by the revolting sight, she immediately complained to the stall owner and showed them what was in her food.

The stall owner then attempted to compensate the incensed customer by offering some kuih, but the woman, who claimed that the stall lacked proper food hygiene, turned down the gesture.

The woman said the incident left her traumatised, and that she could no longer buy nasi lemak from roadside stalls

She also called out the stall owner in the video, writing, "If you want to sell food, can you not be so dirty? How filthy are you to have a lizard this big in your nasi lemak?"

"I lost my appetite. Please check your food before eating," she advised her followers.

At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 24,000 likes and 880,000 views.

Netizens were also disgusted by her discovery and expressed their disapproval in the comments section

"I thought that was salted fish," cried one user.

"Did you request to add on any side dishes?" another asked in jest.

Meanwhile, another user commented that they had a similar experience in the past, but they had finished eating their rice before realising there was a dead lizard in their nasi lemak.

"I immediately vomited. I've avoided anchovies for years because that incident traumatised me," they wrote.
