Ng clinched the gold medals by impressing the judges in the ball and ribbon rhythmic gymnastics events

She won Malaysia's first gold in rhythmic gymnastics at the ball event by first amassing 29.700 points, ahead of Canada’s Suzanna Shahbazian (29.050) and Cyprus' Anna Sokolova (28.800).

Then, not long after her first win, Ng had the Malaysian contingent in the Birmingham Arena erupting in joy when she struck her second gold in the ribbon event.

She scored 27.800, beating Scotland's Louisie Christie (27.550) and Canadian Carmel Kallemaa (27.500).

"She's done it again! In the space of 90 minutes, Joe Ee Ng has won another gold in Gymnastics for @olympicmas with an excellent ribbon routine!" tweeted the Commonwealth Games Federation's official Twitter account after her win.

Even Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah have congratulated the teenager for doing the country proud.

As of day nine, Malaysia's medal tally at the Games is six gold, seven silver, and six bronze.
