TNG eWallet has recently introduced SOS Balance, a new feature for RFID and PayDirect-enabled toll plazas.
SOS Balance steps in to cover your toll payment when your eWallet doesn't have enough money. It ensures you're not stranded at toll plazas so, you can keep driving without a hitch.
Here's everything you need to know about how it works:
Will it cost me extra to use SOS Balance?
No. The feature is completely free for eligible users.
Best of all, it's automatically activated — so when your eWallet balance isn't enough to cover a toll fee, SOS Balance will kick in automatically.
How does it work?
- Drive through RFID or PayDirect-enabled toll plazas as usual.
- If your eWallet balance is insufficient, SOS Balance will automatically cover the toll payment.
- You'll receive a notification about the outstanding amount.
- Repay within 24 hours by reloading your eWallet. The SOS Balance will be automatically deducted.

Who is eligible for SOS Balance?
SOS Balance is an exclusive feature for loyal TNG eWallet users. To qualify, you need to:
- Pay all outstanding amounts promptly.
- Reload your eWallet regularly.
- Actively use the TNG eWallet app for transactions.
If you're eligible, you'll receive a push notification when the feature is enabled for your account.

- The car icon at the top of the home screen,
- The SOS Balance notification, or
- The "More" option under "My Favourites" and search for SOS Balance.
- View your outstanding balance and tap "Pay Now" to reload. The amount will be deducted automatically.

Some things to take note of:
- Repayment deadline: If you don't pay within 24 hours, your SOS Balance feature will be suspended and you won't be able to make payments or purchases using your TNG eWallet until you reload and clear the balance.
- Supported toll plazas: The SOS Balance works at toll plazas with Touch 'n Go RFID or PayDirect systems only. Not all highways are supported yet — check the list below to see which tolls qualify.

Essentially, all RFID lanes are supported.
Meanwhile, PayDirect (via SmartTAG and TNG lanes) is supported on most highways, except for LPT1, LPT2, the Kajang-Seremban Highway (LEKAS), the West Coast Expressway (WCE), the North-South Expressway (PLUS), NKVE, ELITE, SPDH, and LINKEDUA.
