BYD Teases Sleek MPV-Style EV Model Ahead Of Malaysia Launch
Looks like the family is going green.
BYD Malaysia has teased the launch of a new electric vehicle model for the Malaysian market

The upcoming model, designed for family adventures, prioritises comfort and safety. Based on the teaser image released on Facebook, it is likely to be the BYD M6, a three-row multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that has already been launched in Indonesia and is expected to arrive in Singapore soon.

Powered by a single electric motor, the BYD M6 offers similar performance to the BYD Atto 3 and BYD Dolphin ER, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.6 seconds and an NEDC-rated range of 530km on a single charge.
The higher-spec version features a 71.8kWh battery and supports DC charging up to 115kW, while the lower-spec version has a smaller 55.4kWh battery and supports DC charging up to 89kW. Both versions have a single-phase 7kW onboard charger for AC charging.

The MPV offers a refined interior with several upgrades over its predecessor, the BYD e6. The redesigned steering wheel and driver selector enhance the driving experience, while the 12.8-inch rotating screen with 360-degree camera functionality and Apple CarPlay support provide convenience and connectivity.
In terms of safety, the BYD M6 comes with a total of six airbags and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive and intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking, door open warning, and predictive collision warning.
Additional features include a wireless phone charger, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic glass roof, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the MPV to serve as a power source for household appliances.

While pricing details for the BYD M6 in Malaysia have not been released, it is estimated to be priced below RM150,000
In Indonesia, the base seven-seater version is priced at 379,000,000 rupiah (RM103,364), and the range-topping six-seater version is priced at 429,000,000 rupiah (RM117,000).
In addition to the BYD M6, there are indications that another BYD EV model, the BYD Sealion 07, is also being considered for the Malaysian market.
