With Bolt just announcing its entry to the Malaysian ride-hailing scene, Lalamove, known for its e-courier services, has now announced its own e-hailing service!

In a Facebook post last Wednesday, 6 November, the platform revealed its all-new Lalamove Ride service, which enables users to book a ride through its existing Lalamove app.

To access the new feature, select the 'Ride' tab on the Lalamove home screen, enter your pick-up and drop-off locations, and select your preferred type of vehicle

At this time, the app only offers sedan car rides within the Klang Valley.

However, on its website, Lalamove asked Malaysians from other cities to stay tuned as it updates its services.

Lalamove promises to offer users affordable rides while giving drivers more earning opportunities, as driver-partners are able to switch between ride-hailing and delivery operations

"Lalamove's new ride-hailing services address the transportation challenges faced by commuters in Malaysia's Klang Valley, such as lengthy delays during peak times, as well as exposure to heavy rain and sweltering heat in the wet season," said Jane Teh, the managing director of Lalamove Malaysia in a press statement on Monday, 11 November.

"We aim to transform the daily commute and provide more convenient options for everyone. In addition to benefiting our users, this new service also creates more earning opportunities for our driver partner community," she added.
