Malaysians can now skip the queue and use the new autogate services when entering Bali airport

Earlier this year, Bali announced the setting up of 30 new autogates at its I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

On 5 March, Indonesia's Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim officially inaugurated the 30 new autogate processing points at the airport's international arrival terminal.

The autogate immigration services, which incorporates face recognition and Border Control Management (BCM) technology, are aimed to provide a quicker, hassle-free inspection and greater efficiency.

It is also to entice more tourists to visit the popular island.

The new autogate system will reduce the time needed to go through immigration to just 15 to 20 seconds per person

The system is not limited to just arrivals. According to Antara News, more gates will soon be added for departures.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Immigration Office head Suhendra stated earlier this year that the plan is to place 60 autogates at the arrival area and 20 units at the departure area.

Visitors from visa-free countries, such as Malaysia, will just need to register online beforehand via Indonesia's Immigration website.
