PlayStation Network Outage Affects PS5 And PS4 Users, Leaving Gamers Offline
Single-player games are unaffected, though.
On Monday evening, 30 September, PlayStation gamers experienced a widespread outage that affected Sony's PlayStation Network (PSN)
The disruption impacted a variety of consoles, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PS Vita, and even older devices like the PlayStation 3. Gamers who were looking forward to playing online were left frustrated as the network outage prevented them from launching or playing games.
The official PSN Service Status page indicates that all services and web-based features are currently experiencing issues

The most recent update, posted at 9.21pm Eastern Time, states that there are ongoing disruptions to gaming services.
Some users reported encountering the error code "WS-116522-7" during the outage, which is Sony's error code attributed to a failed system software update. This error prevented players from launching games or using apps, effectively halting their gaming sessions until the network was restored.
However, offline games that did not require an online connection continued to function normally, providing some respite for those unaffected by the network issues.
As of now, Sony has not provided any information regarding the cause or estimated resolution time for the widespread PSN outage
It's worth noting that this outage occurred shortly after Sony addressed a separate issue affecting the home screen artwork on PS5 games earlier in the day.
While it's unclear if these two events are related, the timing raises questions about the stability of the PSN network.
