Today, 22 April, TNG Group announced that they are officially rolling out the new and improved TNG cards that allow users to directly reload them using NFC-compatible smartphones
According to New Straits Times, the new method of performing a reload on the card can be made via the Touch 'n Go eWallet app.
Best of all, there are zero surcharges when reloads are performed through this method!

Yes, no more paying RM0.50 just to reload the card.
"We're so pleased to be able to bring this to market, addressing the most common pain point for users of our cards — reload inconvenience," said its chief operating officer, Effendy Shahul Hamid
"With this enhanced card offering, our users can now choose to obtain a card that they can reload anytime or anywhere from their Touch 'n Go eWallet app on their mobile phones. There will also be no reload surcharges levied for the use of this service."
He added that the group expects the demand for the new card will be very high.
With that said, given the global chip shortage, Effendy said the group expects demand will exceed supply.
"So, I'd like to urge patience amongst our users as we try to get these cards to you as soon as possible," said Effendy.

The new cards come in a minimalistic design with shades of pastel pink and pastel blue
SAYS learnt through its eWallet app that the card costs RM10. Another RM5 is needed for postage.
Unfortunately, the card has run out of stock at the time of writing.
However, the app will notify users once the cards are available again.
