You Can Use Credit Cards, Debit Cards & QR Pay At KTMB Stations Starting Mid-November

All 57 KTMB Komuter stations in the Klang Valley will be equipped with the open payment system.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke recently announced that all Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Komuter stations in the Klang Valley will be accepting credit cards, debit cards, and QR pay starting next month

"KTMB commuters will get to enjoy the new facility when all 57 KTMB Komuter stations in the Klang Valley are equipped with a scanning gadget at the gantry, which supports the open payment system," he told the Dewan Rakyat on 26 October, as reported by Bernama.

Besides the default Touch 'n Go card payment method, Loke stated that the open payment system will include credit cards, debit cards, and QR Code via KTMB mobile application (KITS).

"The total cost of the project is RM29 million," he said during the question and answer session.

Loke also disclosed that the implementation of the open payment system for Rapid Rail networks is scheduled for completion by August 2025

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) is in the final stages of developing an implementation plan that covers the Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT), Ampang LRT route, Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) route, Putrajaya MRT route, and Monorail, he added.

In September, several main highways switched their toll plazas to cashless payment systems

Road users can use credit cards and debit cards to pay for tolls at the following 12 highways:
— Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH)
— Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE)
— Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA)
— New Pantai Expressway (NPE)
— Penang Bridge (JPP)
— Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE)
— Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP)
— Western Kuala Lumpur Traffic Dispersal Scheme (SPRINT)
— Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS)
— SMART Tunnel
— Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX)
— Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE)
