Calpis Soda One In A Million (CSOIAM) judges Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim and Cakra Khan were surprised by Alya Mardien's elimination in the fourth episode of the reality show on Sunday, 12 January

Speaking after the show, Cakra Khan praised Alya's amazing voice and expressed sadness over her elimination.

"I was very surprised because Alya is one of the contestants I really like. I always look forward to her performance.

"But, as judges, we only have 60%. The remaining 40% is up to the voters. I was a little surprised tonight [Sunday]. But that's the nature of the competition. I wish her all the best," said the Indonesian singer.

Meanwhile, Yusry urged Alya's fans not to blame the judges, explaining that the 18-year-old contestant received among the fewest audience votes

"For me, I didn't give her high or low marks. Her voice is good. She can maintain a high pitch for a long time. Maybe the audience didn't see her X factor there.

"If your favourite contestant leaves, don't blame us as judges. Blame yourself because Alya clearly had among the lowest votes from the audience.

"You have to take responsibility, if you want the contestant you support to win, you have to do your job [to vote for her]," said Yusry.

The KRU member encouraged Alya not to give up, reminding her that at just 18 years old, she has a promising future ahead.
