American-Malaysian actress Diana Danielle has filed for divorce from her husband, fellow actor and director Farid Kamil Zahari, citing irreconcilable differences and shiqaq (longstanding conflict)

The divorce proceedings were carried out at the Subang Bestari Lower Syariah Court in Shah Alam this morning, 20 March. But Farid declined to recite the proclamation of divorce, reported New Straits Times.

The couple, who got married in November 2012, have not been living together for some time. Diana regularly shares personal updates on her Instagram but has not posted about Farid for over a year now.

They have two kids together, Muhammad, 10, and Aurora, seven.

Diana's latest role in the theatres was in director Nik Amir Mustapha's Imaginur, a surreal film about memories and how our lives are shaped by them. The film raked in RM6 million in a month.

Farid, on the other hand, says he wants to "save the family"

The 42-year-old actor, who is playing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the latter's biopic, Anwar: The Untold Story, hopes that his domestic issues can be resolved through reconciliation, reported Berita Harian.

"I want to save the family. I still love Diana and, of course, the two lights of my eyes, Muhammad and Aurora," he said while denying that there was a crisis between him and Diana.

"Actually, nothing happened. As a husband, I have no problem. Ask Diana, what's wrong with her," Farid told Berita Harian over text messages earlier today.

Farid posted this photo of him with Diana last year.
