RK LIVE is officially bringing contemporary jazz duo DOMi & JD Beck to Kuala Lumpur for the very first time this November!
They will be performing on 26 November at VOX Live, KL.
If you aren't familiar with them yet, it's time to get acquainted
French keyboardist DOMi Louna and American drummer JD Beck first met in 2018 and have since become one of the most talked-about duos in modern jazz.
They don't just play jazz: they flip it on its head, blending fusion, funk, progressive pop, electronic music, and virtuosic improvisation into their unique sound.
Their debut album, NOT TiGHT, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, and they've since collaborated with artistes like Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and RM of BTS.
They'll be bringing tracks from their brand-new album, WHO ASKED, to life on stage
Instead of purely jamming it out, the record was fully orchestrated before a single note was even played.
The result is a stunning masterpiece that places a heavy emphasis on intentional songwriting while still keeping the duo's signature, mind-bending technical brilliance.
