Recently, Malaysian Indian singer-songwriter Heerraa Ravindran won Best Female Solo Artiste at the 6th Annual California Music Video Awards in San Francisco

According to Heerraa's recent Facebook post, the US-based local singer won the accolade for her song, Attention Island.

"I'm deeply honoured for this opportunity, to have my name announced, to walk onstage to receive the award, and [delivering] my acceptance speech to a roomful of talented global artists who are all driven to impact the world with their music too!" wrote the Harvard undergraduate.

Attention Island is Heerraa's first R&B single that was jointly produced by ET Boost Studio and MAP Music, reported New Straits Times.

Other than being an internationally-recognised singer, she also co-founded Ascendancepro, a youth organisation aimed to provide support and empower the youths of today to reach their full potential

According to Free Malaysia Today, Ascendancepro has grown to become an international movement involving over 13,000 youths, and received the Diana Award in 2019.

"Follow your passions no matter how crazy they are. There were many times I could have given up but when you keep working on your goals every single day, you will get there," Heerraa told the news portal.

Heerraa was also featured on Prestige Malaysia's 40 Under 40 List as one of the most influential Malaysian youths of 2022

The singer, songwriter, and performer has achieved international recognition, with her influence reaching the UK, Australia, India, South Africa, and Spain.

Just last year, Prestige dubbed her one of the top 40 most influential youths in Malaysia.

"It's a team effort and some sleepless nights for me, but it's worth it because the impact I can have on people is what makes me excited to wake up every day," she told the magazine.
