Local indie band, The Impatient Sisters, recently released their newest single Rumah of their upcoming 7 Years full album

The Impatient Sisters comprises of three sisters, Soraya, Nazeera, and Irena Taib, who hail from Kuantan. The band's fusion of quirky soul and folk-pop redefines the concept of girl bands, with their distinct haunting harmonies and diverse mix of guitar, xylophone, and kazoo arrangements.

Inspired by artistes like Eisley and Priscilla Ahn, the band's first ever dip into the music scene was in 2011 at Lepaq Cafe performing as the opening act for indie pop band, My Short Term Memory.

Since then, The Impatient Sisters' feat in the music scene is undeniable, having performed at festivals like Urbanscapes and Good Vibes Festival, as well as opened for international acts such as The Jezabels and Dia Frampton

The band has also won awards for JUICE magazine's Best New Find 2011 and MTV Iggy's Artist Of The Week 2013.

In recent years, they also performed as an opening act for Fleet Foxes at KL Live in 2018, as well as Good Vibes Festival 2019, Angkasa Online Fest 2020, Anugerah Lagu Indie 2021, and Riuh Raya 2022.

Their newest single, Rumah, gives us a sneak peek of what's to come for the full release of the 7 Years album coming this year

"Bittersweet with a tinge of nostalgia, the song captures the yearning for our childhood, accompanied by our intimate harmonies," The Impatient Sisters told SAYS.

Mixed and mastered by renowned Indonesian music producer Ari Renaldi, who also produces for artistes like Tulus and Yura Yunita, the song signifies the growth for the band as they journey forward into the next chapter of their lives.

Listen to their latest track Rumah:

The music video is directed by Metakaji, revolving around the concept of capturing the essence of longing and intimate moments through an hourglass

The dreamlike element and haziness of the music video for Rumah definitely shows how 'hazy' and dreamy our childhood can seem once we grow up. Centering around the hourglass, the band shows that time is fleeting and moments in our lives will turn into treasured memories.
