The Grinch Returns As A Slasher In Upcoming Horror Movie 'The Mean One'
He's the Grinch who stole Christmas, but this time, he's not sorry.
This festive season, a grumpy holiday icon makes a murderous return into our lives
It's safe to say that 2022 is the year of parody-horror movies with Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey, which revolves around Christopher Robin discovering that his loving animal friends have returned to their animal instincts, set to release on February 2023. Now, The Grinch is the newest addition to the horror spinoff genre.
In The Mean One, The Grinch, or technically referred to as The Mean One due to copyright issues, will be played by the actor from the Terrifier saga, David Howard Thornton, who played the horrifying Art the Clown.
Funnily enough, his audition for the first Terrifier included a clip of him impersonating The Grinch, according to Collider.
The story follows Cindy You-Know-Who, whose first time meeting The Mean One isn't heartwarming, as he invades her home and kills both of her parents
It comes as no surprise that The Grinch hates Christmas. As the original story follows, The Grinch was just a lonely (albeit heartless) recluse. In this rendition, however, The Grinch ruins Christmas (and lives) by going on a murderous rampage, and goes by the name The Mean One.
20 years later, Cindy returns to her old home in Newville to seek closure
Once she's back in Newville for the holidays, Cindy is riddled with nightmares of The Mean One. While trying to enjoy the festive season, her (we assume) adoptive father becomes his newest victim.
Fuelled by grief and the need to avenge all the lost lives, Cindy goes on a mission to stop the killer once and for all
