This 20-Year-Old Rapper From Kajang Will Make You Feel Better About Going "Back To School"
Drown your uni sorrows with a night of hip-hop and R&B at this 'Back To School Party' tonight!
Malaysian rapper and producer Airliftz, whose real name is Aliff Shaharom, already has an EP and an Asia tour under his belt at 20 years old
This prodigy has been making music since he was only 13 years old. Three years later, he began posting tracks and freestyle videos of himself on Soundcloud and Twitter.
"Getting it on the radio was almost impossible... I was just making beats in my room, putting out song-after-song," Airliftz was quoted as saying by Daily Seni.
According to TimeOut, Airliftz has gained thousands of views on both YouTube and Twitter with his freestyle videos!
Airliftz beat everyone's expectations of him, especially with his debut EP, Bagel, and sharing the stage with international artists at last year's Good Vibes Festival
Growing up, Airliftz was a victim of bullying as he was born with a nose that was missing its cartilage. He had undergone countless surgeries with different doctors up until he was 15 years old, and all he wanted was to live a normal life.
Music became his outlet. It was the only way he could express himself, to prove to his bullies that he wasn't as "useless" as they thought he was. With his hard work in the last four years, he is now one of the biggest names in the Malaysian music scene.
Tonight, 15 March, streetwear and lifestyle retailer Major Drop and a collective of hip-hop nightlife curators Urban Kings will be hosting a 'Back To School Party' featuring this insanely talented young man
Performing alongside Airliftz tonight include DJ Ziqq, rapper-songwriter Dan $hiv, DJ Kooler, and MC Ashtin Sanjiv.
Head down to Ren, Kyo KL tonight and forget your university woes with these brilliant Malaysian musicians!
Major Drop also created their own drink, 'The Drop', which you can try at the party
The custom-made shot combines Jägermeister, vodka, and a 'special ingredient' that you'll have to figure out yourself at the party tonight! ;)
You will get to try the drink for free if you're one of the first 200 to fill in a sign-up form here.
To give you a closer look, Major Drop released a video featuring four "guinea pigs" giving their custom drink a try.
