Tim Burton's Meet & Greet Session With Malaysian Fans Today Has Been Cancelled
The masterclass will be done virtually.
Popular filmmaker Tim Burton's meet and greet session in Malaysia that was meant to be held today, 21 March, has been cancelled
The 64-year-old director, who was supposed to have a book signing and meet and greet with Malaysian fans, has tested positive for COVID-19, and is undergoing quarantine.
Toybox Projects, the organisers behind 'The World of Tim Burton' exhibition, made the announcement last Sunday, 19 March.
"We know this will come as an enormous disappointment to those who hoped to catch a glimpse of him at the opening of the The World of Tim Burton, however, the health of Mr Burton is our top priority," read the announcement.
Aside from that, the Tim Burton Masterclass that was also meant to be held today will be postponed to 14 April, and will be conducted virtually. More details will be announced in the following weeks.
According to the announcement, those who bought VIP tickets will receive a complimentary virtual masterclass ticket along with a 10-minute meet and greet with Tim Burton prior to the class.
VIP ticket holders will also receive personalised autographs from the director as a token of appreciation. They can be collected from the pop-up museum on a later date. All details will be sent to the ticket holders via email.
'The World Of Tim Burton' pop-up museum and exhibition will continue as planned, and will be open to public from today until 30 July
Fans can expect to be immersed in over 500 drawings, paintings, photographs, sketchbooks, moving-image works, and sculptural installations focusing on the recurrent visual themes and motifs that resonate in the distinctive characters and worlds found in Burton's art and films, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, the recent hit TV series Wednesday, and many other unreleased characters and drawings.
