It even captured the attention of Sam Smith himself!

American Idol season one winner and The Voice judge Kelly Clarkson also tweeted in response, "This video has been going around my team as well! This kid is insane!!"

It turns out that the guy in the video is Carl Malone Montecido, an extremely talented, visually-impaired singer from the Philippines

He was a former finalist on the Filipino amateur singing competition Tawag ng Tanghalan (translated as Call of the Stage), a segment of the noontime program It's Showtime.

According to Rappler, Carl competed during the 2016 - 2017 edition of the contest.

Being blind is no hindrance for this young man. At the age of 11, he also joined Pilipinas Got Talent 2010.

According to ViralManila, Carl did a live video thanking everyone for their positive response and mentioned that he and his friend were not skipping class and had visited the shop after school.
