For those who love Korean music and culture, we have some good news for you!

The MELOSAGA Malaysia Street Dance and Music Festival will be bringing Malaysia's first and largest K-music, dance, and street culture festival to you this January.

The festival will span over three days and consists of three events: ESCAPISM, the concert, BATTLESAGA, which will see a series of international and local dance competitions, as well as K-DIMENSION, a K-Culture carnival boasting 100 booths of dance workshops, games, fashion, and more.

Co-presented by UNC Entertainment and Base Entertainment Asia, this festival is a must-visit for avid festival-goers. MELOSAGA will be held at MINES International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC), Kuala Lumpur, from 13 January until 15 January.

Along with the headliners, there will also be performances from Shigga Shay, YGX, DOLLA, ForceParkBois, DJ Raiden, and more acts that will be announced soon. The concert will be on 14 January from 6pm to 11pm.

The founder of UNC Entertainment, Dylan Chyo, said, "More than just the headliners, MELOSAGA is the first-of-its-kind street music and dance competitions and carnival in Malaysia, which brings together an impressive line-up of regional performances, workshops, and street culture elements, here at Kuala Lumpur. Developed as an alcohol-free event, it is suitable for young and old alike."

Festival-goers will also get to witness dance battles live during the BATTLESAGA segment of the event on 15 January

The festival will feature an impressive mix of local and international dance competitions, starting with the RF Jam Malaysia Qualifier Round. Winners of the four-versus-four breaking and three-versus-three all-style will stand a chance to win a sponsored trip to RF JAM 2023 in Vietnam.

There will also be a Street Dance Art and Culture Association (SDACA) Championship, where international and local all-star dancers will compete to be the winners of BATTLESAGA.

Chief executive officer of Base Entertainment Asia, Chantal Prudhomme, added, "We are thrilled to be working with UNC Entertainment to present MELOSAGA, a music and dance festival which will connect entertainment with street culture by bringing established artists and emerging acts, both regional and local, under one roof."

You can also audition for YG Entertainment, which is the agency behind the popular groups BLACKPINK and BIGBANG, during the K-DIMENSION segment

Spanning over three days, K-DIMENSION, the K-Culture component, will showcase the magic of K-Culture and K-Pop.

The Phaze International, an international dance showcase competition, will be held on the first day to attract dancers from over 25 countries to compete for a cash prize of USD5,000 (RM22,165) as well as the opportunity to perform on ESCAPISM as the opening act.

Aside from joining the audition for YG Entertainment held on the first two days of the festival, you can also witness YGX from 'Street Women Fighter' perform live, as well as the opportunity to participate in the YGX Star Workshop taught by famous South Korean artist choreographers.
