3-Year-Old Boy Still In Diapers Goes Viral For His Incredible Breakdancing Skills In China
Better than a certain (ahem) Olympian.
A diaper-clad boy in China is becoming an online sensation after a video of him competing in a street dance competition went viral
On 9 November, the three-year-old boy named Beng Beng took part in the Second National Street Dance Championship in Changsha, Hunan Province, where he was the youngest contestant in the entire competition.
And no, he wasn't just prancing around the stage. Sporting a stylish black bucket hat, the tiny dancer looked every bit confident as he threw out some serious moves, from headstands and spins to tumbles and even the Windmill.
And it was Beng Beng's first formal competition!
The three-year-old started out by mimicking his father's handstands at home and has been breakdancing for about a year.
Beng Beng's father, Mr. Luo, is an avid hip-hop dancer who had no intention of training the little boy to dance.
"I usually do handstands at home to stay in shape. When I was exercising, he would imitate me and eventually became better at handstands than me," he said.
The three-year-old is so dedicated to his craft that he even has to be "dragged" away from practice for meals.
"He won't respond even if you call him during mealtime. He insists on practicing," Luo said.
Sensing his son's passion for breakdancing, Luo decided to sign his son up for the competition in Changsha
"He has no stage fright and wants to win the championship," Luo said.
However, Luo never expected that videos of his son would go viral all over Chinese social media, with one video accumulating over 490,000 views on Douyin.
And of course, netizens are feeling all kinds of emotions seeing a tiny child in diapers preforming incredible feats.
Some are hilariously comparing their own achievements (or lack thereof) to Beng Beng's. One commenter joked, "I used to feel like a loser when I watched Douyin. Now, I feel like my son is also a loser."
Others are clamoring for the secret to his success: "What milk brand does he drink? I need to get myself the same one," one user quipped.
Some can't help but point out the irony of his mastery of complex dance moves alongside his need for diapers, with one commenting, "He's at the age where he can breakdance but can't control his urine."
"Those who wear diapers have already learned street dance, but those who wear pajamas can't even learn hand gestures in dances or remember the lyrics of a song," another said.
In the end, Beng Beng placed 140th out of 300 contestants in the competition.
Way to go, little dude!
Beng Beng was already gaining a bit of attention on Douyin, where videos of his breakdancing ventures are shared under the account, 尿不湿蹦蹦 (Diaper Wearing Beng Beng).
With only 77 videos, the account has amassed over 269,000 followers and 9.56 million likes, as of the time of writing.
