Ever felt so single that you just wish someone would text you goodnight or give you a look that makes your heart flutter?

Perhaps, this peacock at Zoo Negara will relate.

Zoo Negara recently shared a video of one of its bird residents attempting to gain a little attention from its female counterpart.

Strutting around with its feathers all fanned out, a peacock can be seen trying really hard to garner some admiration from a disinterested peahen.

Whether she was playing hard to get or just more concerned about pecking around for food, the hapless male fowl trailed after her with his feathers unfurled, resembling a desperate fanboy at a rock concert

Hopeful, waiting, and loveless, you can't help but feel a little sympathy for his try-hard efforts.

At the start of the video, she had her back turned away from him. When she finally faced him while munching, he could be seen shuffling to the side, almost as if pleading, "Do you see me now? Please, look at me."

For a brief moment, it seemed like she was heading towards him, but then she quickly hopped away, leaving behind a lovesick and broken-hearted bird, wondering where he went wrong

A flutter of disappointment.

So, the next time you feel invisible, remember even this dazzling peacock is out there, flaunting its colours and waiting for someone to appreciate its splendour
