With his fluffy fur and perky ears, Hodu may seem like an unlikely candidate for the job, but don't let his small stature fool you.

Pictures of this pocket-sized canine that were shared by Chong Won-o, the head of Seongdong District Office, quickly went viral on social media platform, X

Every day, Hodu dons his miniature uniform — a tiny neon green vest — roaming the neighbourhood and keeping a watchful eye out for any signs of trouble or furry friends in need of assistance.

Hodu is one of 1,424 owner-pet patrol teams selected to participate in this pet dog patrol programme, which was launched in 2022 by the Seoul Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee

To become a dog patroller, Hodu was evaluated on his ability to follow his owner's orders and its behaviour around strangers.
