And a Malaysian cat owner has done just that by dressing his four cats in Jalur Gemilang outfits to instil some patriotism in them. <3
41-year-old Azhan Dziaruddin is a father of four fourballs, who have gone viral on Instagram recently after he dressed them in Malaysian flag clothes
In a 29-second Instagram video, two of them are seen wearing red tengkolok, while another cat wears a tengkolok with traditional motifs. The smallest cat can be seen wearing Jalur Gemilang 'hair ties'!
The first three cats look annoyed by their outfits, while the last cat looks utterly shocked. Their reactions to the outfits have amused thousands of netizens on Instagram.
Speaking to SAYS, Azhan said he held a Jalur Gemilang dress-up party for his cat about two weeks ago, preparing way ahead of Hari Kebangsaan
He said that he bought the outfits from @meowkushop on Instagram.
When asked how the cats felt when they were told to wear the outfits for a photoshoot, Azhan said they looked like they had "given up and just followed" whatever order he had for them.
"I am proud to be a Malaysian citizen. I am happy that we will celebrate the 65th Independence Day. Therefore, I want my cats to also celebrate Hari Kebangsaan with me," the cats' father shared the motivation behind the Jalur Gemilang makeover.
Other than dressing up for 31 August, Azhan also often buys random themed clothes for his furballs
One of them is his cat in a Starbucks barista outfit, while another is his cats donned in construction worker outfits that come with red safety helmets.
Among the four babies, Jibet is the star in Azhan's Instagram cat account, as Jibet is his trusty hiking companion, who, together, has conquered over 30 mountains, reported New Straits Times.
Jibet has also done flying fox and paragliding with Azhan. Many of Jibet's achievements made headlines nationwide.
