Japan Art Exhibit Lets You Sniff 'Animal Butts' That Are Made To Smell Like The Real Thing
Butt why.
These animals have become the butt of the joke. Quite literally.
If you've been curious to know what a penguin's bum or a tiger's rump smells like, now you can find out.
There's a wildlife exhibit in átoa aquarium in Kobe, Japan that lets you sniff animal backsides.
Displayed on the walls of the exhibit are glass framed pictures of various animal butts with small openings visitors can poke their noses through and get a whiff
Each frame is said to be doused with carefully crafted synthetic fragrances that mimic the real smell of an animal's bum.
Video footage of two visitors sniffing different animal anuses recently went viral
In the video, Gabriella, who is one of the visitors and original video poster, can be seen pulling back in disgust and laughing after sniffing the butt of a tiger.
She wrote that the penguin's bum wasn't too bad and actually smelled a little sweet. The tiger, on the other hand...
Under the Gallery section of átoa's website, it explains that the exhibit is a "space to experience with all your senses"
"The art in each of the frames (digital art, light and shadow, smells, and sounds) will excite your senses," reads the description.
Gabriella wrote that the exhibit is free. However, entry to the aquarium costs JPY2,400 (RM79).
