A McDonald's in Subang Jaya, Selangor, had the honour of hosting a wedding on 25 July, Thursday

The bride, Marisha, decided on the fast food establishment as her unofficial wedding and birthday venue. Marisha told SAYS that she wanted something inclusive for her multi-racial friends and that McDonald's was the perfect choice since all of her friends enjoyed its food.

There was a black-tie dress code and everyone was to show up in fancy dresses and suits, as Marisha saw the humour in seeing her guests turn up at McDonald's all glammed up.

And just like a real wedding, there were wedding-themed activities planned out for everyone to enjoy

The three-hour event featured ice-breaking sessions, games, cake cutting, and bouquet tossing. It even included a Hamburglar officiant who oversaw the reciting of vows and ring exchange!

The venue also provided a photo booth for picture taking, a 'Minions' cut-out board, and tonnes of balloons. Very fitting for a wedding cum birthday party.

There was also a free flow of drinks and food throughout the event and guests could order anything they liked, as much as they liked.

Marisha said the whole event was worth it for the price she paid

She said that she only needed to pay for the food and drinks. The outlet did not charge her for the venue along with its facilities. The entire event cost her around RM1500 for a capacity of more than 60 guests.

Marisha said that she would also like to highlight the efforts of the Taipan McDonald's person in charge, as they helped the couple with the event organisation as well as served their guests food and drinks throughout the ceremony.

McDonald's weddings have been growing in popularity since being introduced in Hong Kong

CNBC reported that McDonald's Hong Kong has expanded its wedding services to 15 locations in the country and has been gaining popularity ever since its introduction in 2011.

It isn't only limited to wedding ceremonies either. The fast food establishment also offers engagement, anniversary, and bridal shower packages. These packages come alongside door gifts for guests, wedding themed McDonald's food and decorations, etc.

Congratulations to the McHappy couple!
