Malaysian Mak Cik Fans Stranger & Her 2-Month-Old Baby During Scorching Hot Train Ride
A heart of pure gold.
No matter one's age, gender, or racial background, it's always important to do the right thing when it matters
Such an instance was recently captured online after Malaysian entrepreneur, Bryan Low, came across a kind woman who helped a mother and her baby.
In a six-second TikTok uploaded to his page, Low showed one Malay mak cik fanning a mother and her baby during a train ride.
According to Low in a caption plastered across the screen of the clip, the baby had been feeling awfully hot while on the train. Without flinching, the mak cik quickly sprung into action to help fan the child with a small pillow.
"This is our country," wrote Low in the caption of his post.
Warming hearts across the nation, Low's TikTok has garnered over one million views and about 65,000 likes at the time of writing
Praising the mak cik, many Malaysians expressed how touched they were to see her go the extra mile to care for a stranger's child.
"Malaysians are good people. No matter what race, we can all live together peacefully and in unity," wrote another user.
Others even pointed out how warm train rides already are for older individuals, let alone a baby.
Another commenter, who happened to be on the train at the same time the video was taken, said how beautiful the scene was when she witnessed it too.
In a surprising turn, the aunty who was fanning the two-month-old baby in the train, revealed her identity and commented under the TikTok, thanking Low for sharing the moment online.
In a brief conversation with SAYS, Low stated that the aunty had assisted him too, as he was rushing to find the right platform when taking the train home from Bukit Mertajam to Padang Rengas in Penang
After helping him get on the right train, which coincided with the train she needed to take as well, Low stated that he got to know the aunty, who goes by Mak Cik Irah, and her husband, who was also on the train.
"She and her husband were super friendly, especially her husband. He talked to almost everyone on the train near him and asked people where they were going, how life was treating them, and if they were feeling warm," said Low to SAYS.
Among the people they spoke to included the mother of the two-month-old baby. Low stated that due to the hot weather and poor air conditioning, the train became very warm, causing the baby to sweat and cry. Initially, Mak Cik Irah and her husband attempted to comfort the baby, but it did not work. She proceeded to pick up a small pillow and fan the baby instead.
"I just found this clip super touching, so I shared it on TikTok in hopes of spreading positivity," Low said.
Spreading kindness to the people they've come across, we tip our hats to Mak Cik Irah and her husband for their care towards fellow Malaysians.
