Rei Lynn and Richard Chua knew from the get-go that they wanted to go with something different and outside the norm for their wedding

As fans of "geeky pop culture" and being cosplayers themselves, deciding on a cosplay theme seemed like the natural choice. After all, the bride did imagine having a cosplay-themed wedding from way back in 2013!

"Rei and I are very much influenced by geeky pop culture like Star Wars, Marvel, My Little Pony, Sailor Moon etc. We both also cosplay and have many friends in the cosplay community," the groom told SAYS.

In paying homage to the pop icons that they bonded over, friends and family members were given the option to celebrate the couple's nuptials as their favourite characters.

Some guests turned up in classic formalwear, but those who turned up in costume truly brought their A-game!

Cocktail hour looked like a scene out of a comic convention, with wedding guests mingling alongside pop culture icons from Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel and DC Comics, Ghostbusters, and even Sonic the Hedgehog

Even Subang MP Wong Chen, whose wife is a cousin of the bride, showed up as Harry Potter. :p

The couple themselves were dressed as Elrond from Lord of the Rings and Princess Serenity from Sailor Moon, gleefully posing for photos in front of a Hobbit-hole with their equally fancy guests

Rei and Richard later changed into Princess Leia and Spock costumes for a short skit with Darth Vader and some of the cosplayers in attendance

Everyone who showed up in costume even got a photo together. Loki is totally on point and we applaud Bumblebee's dedication, you guys.

Check out the rest of the decor as well as their gorgeous unicorn cake!

It sure looks like a wedding to remember. Live long and prosper, Rei and Richard!
