A Japanese model recently came up with a way to make a face mask using an unused bra

According to Mothership, on 3 March, @asahinayumeno tweeted photos of her wearing a bra cup around her face - complete with lace and all.

She also provided a step-by-step guide on how to make your own 'bra mask'

"All you need is a needle and some thread," she explained in the caption.

And of course, an unused bra.

First, she cut the bra in half and snipped off the back band.

Using only one cup of the bra, she cut off the other cup's strap and sewed it onto the first one so that it has two straps that can hook onto your ears.

The end result seemed to fit her pretty well.

Well, we're not sure if it's actually effective in protecting yourself from the virus.

But 'A' for effort in trying to save the earth, I guess? :p

Her tweet has already been retweeted 15,900 times with over 69,900 likes. You can check it out below:

In the meantime, World Health Organisation (WHO) shared some steps you can take to protect yourself from the virus

According to their website, WHO advises to:

- Wash your hands frequently.
- Maintain social distancing.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Practise respiratory hygiene.
- If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, seek medical care immediately.
