The Malaysian federal government will increase the FlySiswa Madani flight ticket subsidy to RM500 in 2027, raising the financial aid from its previous value of RM400

The subsidy expansion aims to alleviate inter-state travel costs for public university students flying between Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, announced during the tabling of Belanjawan 2027 that the funding boost will directly benefit over 60,000 students enrolled in public higher learning institutions (IPTAs) nationwide.

The FlySiswa initiative functions as a digital voucher system, allowing eligible students to redeem credit directly through participating domestic airlines

The RM100 top-up helps buffer students against seasonal airfare spikes, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent young Malaysians from returning home to their families.
