Travellers flying to India will now need to complete a new digital arrival form before boarding their flight, with AirAsia reminding passengers not to leave it until the last minute
In a travel advisory published on 10 July, the airline said all foreign travellers entering India are required to complete the new India Digital Arrival Card before arriving in the country.
The reminder comes as India rolls out new digital entry procedures for international arrivals.

According to AirAsia, travellers can complete the India Digital Arrival Card through the official Indian Visa website or the Indian Visa Su-Swagatam mobile app.
Passengers will be asked to provide details including:
- Full name (as per passport)
- Nationality
- Phone number and email address
- Passport details
- Flight number
- Purpose of travel
- Hotel or local residential address
- Recent travel history
After submitting the form, travellers will receive an acknowledgement email, which must be presented together with their travel documents for verification by immigration officers upon arrival.
AirAsia recommends submitting the digital arrival card within three days before departure to ensure a smoother immigration process.
Travellers must also complete a separate health declaration
Besides the digital arrival card, AirAsia said all travellers entering India, including Indian nationals, must also complete the Air Suvidha Digital Health Declaration within 24 hours before their scheduled departure.
The airline said travellers are encouraged to submit the health declaration before flying to avoid delays upon arrival.
Once completed, passengers will receive a reference number that must be presented to immigration officers at international airports and other official entry points.

Travellers boarding AirAsia flights queue up at the check-in counter in Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2.

AirAsia stressed that both the India Digital Arrival Card and the Air Suvidha health declaration are not visas.
Travellers must still comply with India's existing entry requirements, including obtaining a valid visa where applicable.
The airline also noted that entry requirements may change from time to time and advised passengers to verify the latest requirements with the Indian government before travelling.
