With the many celebrations of culture, food and music going on at RIUH this weekend, here are 6 things you should look forward to:
1. Get your Raya shopping going with 50 vendors, scattered around APW Bangsar
Shop for everything with ease! Get your Raya cookies, trendy clothes, accessories, artisanal pieces, and more from homegrown brands at RIUH's eclectic monthly pop-up bazaar.
2. Iftar with a delicious food selection at RIUH's very own bazaar ramadan
Serving some variety for iftar, fill your empty stomach with some juicy BBQ at Mom's BBQ, or have some hot-of-the-wok Asian food from Wok It.
Riuh Raya is specially catered to fill your tummies with comfort food favourites so indulge in some Beef Soto from Cik Wan Girl, Duck Rice from Roast Kitchen or Moroccan Chicken Wrap from Pan & Tamper, among many other hearty dishes.
With over 21 food stalls available this time around, you'll have plenty of food options to break your fast with the community!
Pssssttt.... RIUH will also be giving out free dates this weekend.
3. Get hands on and get into the Raya mood with a community Ketupat Weaving activity and a community colouring project by KL Sketch Nation. RIUH loves it when the community participates in art!
Now's your chance to learn how to weave your own ketupat! Better late than never right?
Back to bring us some more artsy fun, KL Sketch Nation will bring out the inner-artist in you with their fun-filled "Colour Your Kampung" project.
Great for kids, adults, and all kids-at-heart, bring along all your abang, kakak, aunty, and uncles along to RIUH's festive #riuhraya celebration!
4. Tarawikh berjemaah with your friends and family at UPPERCASE
There will be an imam to lead Tarawikh prayers for all Muslim attendees at UPPERCASE. This thoughtful initiative is so that everyone can hang out and shop at RIUH, while observing the holy month of Ramadan.
5. Celebrate Harvest Festival with our Borneo brothers and sisters with special performances of Tarian Ngajat Iban and Tarian Sumazau
Bringing an East Malaysian cultural love to RIUH this weekend, get a front seat experience to special colourful traditional dances all the way from Borneo. Gayu Guru gerai Nyamai (means: long life, health, and prosperity in Iban)! Kotobian tadau tagazo do kaamatan guys (means: Happy Kaamatan in Kadazan Dusun)!
6. Chill out to intimate acoustic performances by Bil Musa, Jumero and more!
Celebrate the local music scene as RIUH hosts a pre-festival hangout for Good Vibes.
Get a sneak preview to what's in store for Good Vibes Festival 2018 with performances local acts such as Bil Musa, Jumero, Dangerdisko, Rizki, and Froya.
Out of respect for Ramadan, all live acts will be held before Maghrib prayers and after Tarawikh prayers.
