It's not easy to participate in marathons and runs like we used to before the pandemic started :(
In fact, it's next to impossible for these activities to take place in public nowadays.
Fortunately, the existence of virtual runs are a blessing in disguise for all those peeps at home itching for a chance to get out and stretch their legs. But, what about the peeps who wanna run AND liven things up with a lil excitement?
AIA Vitality is challenging all Malaysians to participate in their augmented reality virtual run, District Race Malaysia!
All you need to participate is a pair of running shoes, your own starting line (preferably outside), and a thirst for success!
This digital event is meant to encourage Malaysians to stay active and lead a healthy lifestyle during the new normal by exercising in a new and exciting way while being comfortable and safe.
You can join this four-month event no matter where you are, and you can start by downloading the District app
The District app has activities that allow you to collect points by completing virtual checkpoints and challenges within the race time limit. Simply go outside, switch on the app, and walk through GPS locations to earn points. You'll find these checkpoints once you start exploring your neighborhood or local park.
Don't want to go hunting for checkpoints? You can still earn points by walking or running. Just be sure to track your progress with the District app OR by linking a GPS-supported wearable device to the app.
FYI, if you collect over 2,000 points as you compete in District Race Malaysia, you'll stand a chance to win attractive prizes, including a brand new Proton X50!
