Viral Japanese bakery I'm donut ? is officially opening its first outlet in Malaysia

One of Tokyo's most talked-about dessert spots is set to bring its famously fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth donuts to our shores for the very first time.

According to a recent Instagram post on its official account, the store is slated to open in September this year.

While no exact location has been confirmed yet, some have speculated that it could possibly be at The Exchange TRX.

Founded in Japan by chef Ryouta Hirako, the concept is built on the idea of constantly questioning and reinventing traditional pastries, which is exactly where the playful question mark in its name comes from.

I'm donut ? became a social media sensation thanks to its signature nama donuts that are known for being soft, airy, almost custard-like, feeling lighter than anything you'd expect from a classic fried treat.

Unlike the dense, sugary donuts many of us grew up with, these are known for their cloud-like texture, glossy finish, and creative flavours that range from sweet to savoury

Each donut is made using a handcrafted brioche dough with a proprietary blend of premium ingredients, prepared fresh on-site daily along with its toppings.

The popular donut brand already has outlets in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and New York City, where it has consistently drawn long queues and frequent sell-outs.
