Pahang Eco-Parks, Forest Parks & Ecotourism Areas Temporarily Closed Until Further Notice
Recreational activities, including trekking, have been prohibited since 21 October.
All eco-forest parks, state forest parks, ecotourism areas, and recreational activities within permanent forest reserves will be temporarily closed until further notice
In a statement by the Pahang Forestry Department on 21 October, the temporary closure was due to upcoming monsoon season that is expected to occur in November. However, the Mossy Forest in Cameron Highlands will remain open.
"All types of recreational activities including mountain climbing, motorsports, trekking, cave exploration, and other leisure activities are not allowed during this period," the statement reads.
The closure only affects areas directly managed by the Pahang state government. Eco-forest parks, state forest parks, and ecotourism areas that are privately operated under government authorisation are not included in this closure.
Violation of these regulations may result in legal action under the National Forestry Act 1984.
