Gentle Monster Is Opening Its First Store In Malaysia At The Exchange TRX Mall
The South Korean eyewear store will open on 29 November.
Popular South Korean eyewear brand, Gentle Monster, is making its official debut in Malaysia very soon
The flagship store is set to debut its first-ever establishment in Kuala Lumpur at The Exchange TRX on 29 November. The store will feature a curated selection of pieces from the brand's collaborations with D'heygere and Maison Margiela, in addition to showcasing the latest offerings from its 2024 Optical Collection.
This collection, which has already made waves globally with its 'Gentle High School' campaign featuring actress Nana Komatsu and musician Shinichi Osawa, promises a distinctive line of eyewear, distinguished by bold and sophisticated metal detailing.
Established in 2011 by Hankook Kim, this eyewear brand has been worn by celebrities like BLACKPINK's Rosé, singer-songwriter Rauw Alejandro, and South Korean DJ/producer Peggy Gou
When Kim founded Gentle Monster, his research revealed a gap in the eyewear industry. He found that existing eyewear was designed for Western facial features.
Recognising that South Koreans tend to have smaller faces, he saw an opportunity in the market. By creating oversized glasses with low bridge noses, he tailored his products to the specific needs of his initial customer base.
The luxury eyewear brand has since expanded its presence by establishing stores in numerous countries, such as the US, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and the UK, among others.
Gentle Monster Kuala Lumpur will open its doors for the first time on 29 November, with operating hours from 11am to 6.30pm
Starting from 30 November, the store will open from 10am to 10pm and can be found at G.12A, Ground Level in The Exchange TRX.
