Today, the land sits quietly among the houses in Taman Bukit Bandaraya. But many people may not realise that the empty space was once home to a bungalow that became known as one of Kuala Lumpur's most talked-about haunted houses.

Back in the early 1990s, the house became linked to a tragic murder case involving a family and their domestic helper

A security guard was later arrested and convicted over the killings, and the incident quickly became one of the country's most shocking cases at the time.

As the years passed, more stories about the bungalow began spreading online and through word of mouth

People claimed they heard children crying near the house late at night, while others spoke about seeing strange figures around the compound. Some drivers passing through Jalan Turi also shared stories about feeling uncomfortable or uneasy near the area after dark.

The abandoned condition of the bungalow only added to the rumours. With overgrown trees, damaged gates, and the house left empty for years, the property slowly became part of local ghost story culture. Over time, photos and stories about the house started appearing in forums, blogs, and later on TikTok as well.

The bungalow remained abandoned for years before it was demolished around 2010

Today, the house is no longer there, and only an empty plot remains.

But even after its demolition, stories about the Jalan Turi bungalow still continue circulating online.

For many Malaysians, this plot will be etched in our memories as the "haunted house in Bangsar"
