Escape To Janda Baik For A 10-Day Festival Where Nature, Fun & Culture Collide
The inaugural Janda Baik Festival is a multi-dimensional celebration of art, culture, and tradition.

From 12 to 21 July, Janda Baik will be playing host to the inaugural Janda Baik Festival (JBF24), a multi-dimensional celebration of art, culture, and tradition
The festival aims to bring together artists, artisans, performers, environmental and social changemakers, and wellness experts to create an enriching and immersive experience.
There are lots of wonderfully curated activities lined up, all of which will be happening amidst the breathtakingly lush green surroundings of Janda Baik, Pahang. The activities will be spread out across over a dozen locations in the tranquil village, ranging from resorts, chalets, and campsites to cafes, restaurants, and a nature school.
Here's a breakdown of the event highlights to look forward to:
- 12 to 14 July: Musical, cultural, and artistic performances
- 16 to 18 July: Sustainable Tourism Forum
- 19 to 21 July: Baik Outdoor Karnival (JBOK) which will highlight outdoor nature activities and traditional local showcases
"We aim to enrich the eco-tourism scene in Janda Baik and are dedicated to highlighting traditional activities such as the Pahang plate dance, blowpipe demonstrations, and other captivating traditional and indigenous games, crafts, food, and practices," said Diana, president of the Janda Baik Resort Association.
During the first weekend of the festival, a diverse range of exciting and captivating artistes and artisans will be performing
Catch performances by Malaysian legends like Zainal Abidin, Sheila Majid, and Joe Flizzow, as well as great local acts such as At Adau, Pretty Ugly, Zee Avi, Alena Murang, Ktown Clan, Lunadira, Masia One, and the Jah Jah Army.
There will even be a special 25th Year Anniversary Show by Gerhana Ska Cinta!
The performances will kick off on 13 July, from 5pm to midnight at the JBF24 main stage, Les'Tari, located at the SK Janda Baik school field.
You can also enjoy a variety of cultural and artistic showcases throughout the day, including Drum Circle by 1drum Academy, Sarah Heng and the Ghuzeng Academy, Diabolo Performance by Diabolution, Tarian Piring Janda Baik, Junior Tampek Seni Budaya, Traditional Malay and Indian Dance by ASK Dance Studio, Visual Stop Motion by Raito Lo, Contre Nature Visual Mapping by Jeremy Griffoud, and more.
Various outdoor enthusiasts, sustainability and environmental communities, and art and cultural initiatives will also come together to share, showcase, and participate in the festival
This includes a marketplace by Ilovebazaar, art showcases by Rantai Art, a makers market called Pasar Bikin, a literature camp by Didik Alam, an exhibition of Nick Fahmi's art, a reading of Nick Fahmi's books, an Art Go Round by Karya Janda Baik, Solar Portal by M. Sahzy and HAUS Kuching, and movie screenings by Eco Knights, among others.
During the weekday sessions, you can attend sustainable tourism forums, talks, and exhibits with local NGOs like Sahabat Alam Tampek, Trash Heroes Janda Baik, FRIM, Sustainable Tourism Malaysia, and Habitat Foundation.
On the final weekend, 19 to 21 July, the JB OK Outdoor Carnival will take place, featuring activities such as a cycle hunt, ATV rides, trail running, Rewang traditional and local food fest, and many more activities.
The aim of JBF24 is for more people to become aware of the importance of sustainable tourism and environmental conservation
With sustainability at its heart, the Janda Baik Festival is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and making the event as eco-friendly as possible.
To alleviate traffic congestion and minimise car usage, attendees are encouraged to carpool. The festival will also arrange shuttle services and partner with electric transportation companies to offer convenient e-bikes for greener transportation. They also plan to team up with e-hailing companies to provide discounted and sustainable transportation options.
Additionally, JBF24 is going the extra mile by using biodegradable and upcycled materials for some of their merchandise and collaterals. They are also encouraging all festival-goers to use reusable cups, plates, and cutlery, ensuring that festival's environmental impact is as minimal as possible.
Local NGOs like Sahabat Alam Tampek and FRIM will also be hosting tree planting activities at the festival.
With support from various agencies and entities like the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Pahang, Bentong Municipal Council, The Bentong MP office, Resort Association Janda Baik, Sustainable Tourism Malaysia, Habitat Foundation, Didik Alam, Karya Janda Baik, Sahabat Alam Tampek, Eco Knights, Kaki Seni, Rantai Art, and more, this unique festival hopes to position Janda Baik as a world-class sustainable eco-tourism destination and improve the lives of the local community.
Pre-sale tickets for the Les'Tari main stage are now available on Ticketmelon for RM250 for a day ticket and RM400 for both days, allowing attendees to enjoy all the amazing activities, showcases, and workshops throughout the weekend
