Flying high in the friendly skies may not always be the motto most passengers go with when having to travel by airplane, especially when the ride gets bumpy along the way

A recent post has been going viral online after one such passenger expressed their gratitude to the flight's crew.

In the post that was made to the public Facebook group Malaysia Airlines, a pilot for Flight MH2522, Captain Paul Lau, shared a message he received from one of his passengers, who wrote their note on a sickness bag, during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching last Friday, 6 October.

Identifying themselves as passenger 18D, and directing the note to all flight crew members, the passenger shared their appreciation towards Captain Lau for flying smoothly despite the cloudy weather.

"I have a terrible phobia of turbulence and was worried that a late evening flight would be bumpy. Thank you guys for the amazing experience. I truly appreciate it. Hope you guys have a great weekend!" wrote the passenger.

Moved by the letter he received, Captain Lau posted a heartfelt response alongside the shared note, expressing his sincere appreciation for the passenger's gesture

"On behalf of Malaysia Airlines and my wonderful crew, I wish to thank you very much for your appreciation.

"Your kind words have brightened our day and encouraged us to provide you and our passengers the best we could. I also wish to apologise about the seatbelt signs being turned on for most of the time due to adverse weather.

"Looking forward to seeing you onboard again," wrote Captain Lau.

"Great job, Captain Lau. Not many passengers bother to pen words of appreciation after flying to their destinations. The passenger has certainly acknowledged a good job done by you and your crew," wrote one user.

A couple of users also pointed out that the note being written on a sickness bag was probably a form of symbolism used by the passenger to convey their appreciation to the pilot.

"Great pilot, because the air sickness bag is proof that it was not used for sickness, but as a token of relaying gratitude. Though the person said weather was the issue, this bag didn't need to be used. Thank you, captain!" commented one user.
