McDonald's Spreads Joy By Throwing Birthday Party For Kids From Children Welfare Homes
The kids enjoyed a fun-filled day of games, activities, and Happy Meals!
For the sixth year in a row, McDonald's Malaysia is collaborating with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to host its Community Month all throughout October, woohoo!
Since 2017, 'Program Komuniti McDonald's & RMHC' has been organising nearly 18,000 community events at 355 of its restaurants in Malaysia every year.
And this year's no different. McDonald's Malaysia recently held the launch ceremony for this year's Community Month at McDonald's Pantai Sentral Park DT, celebrating together with 40 children from Rumah Kanak-Kanak Trinity and Rumah Hope.
The children were in for a major treat, with local celebrities like Fara Fauzana as well as other social media influencers joining in to host fun activities and games all day long
Despite the rain at first, it didn't dampen the spirit of the children, who were excited for a fun-filled day. From familiar games like musical chairs and poison ball, to dances and carnival games, the kids from both homes had a blast!
All of this culminated in McDonald's Malaysia having a birthday celebration for every single child, complete with a Happy Meal! :D
According to Shamsidar Yahya, Director of Corporate Communications at McDonald's Malaysia, Community Month is a way for the company to make a positive impact
Celebrated every October, Community Month is dedicated towards underprivileged children, and is held in conjunction with Children's Day, which falls on 30 October.
"We are very happy to see this birthday celebration getting such a great response from the management and kids from the children welfare homes," she said.
What makes it extra special this year is that McDonald's Malaysia is not only celebrating birthday parties at charity homes, but also bringing children from the homes to McDonald's outlets to experience the joy firsthand. A total of 12,000 kids from 400 children welfare homes will get to take part in McDonald's Malaysia's Community Month.
Shamsidar added that seeing the smiles on their faces is what motivates McDonald's Malaysia to continue its community efforts.
During the launch event, Shamsidar also revealed the culmination of this year's Community Month, which would be its Karvival Famili Mekdi held on the premises of McDonald's outlets in Putrajaya, Penang Auto City, and Mutiara Rini in Johor Bahru. Happening towards the end of the month, it will feature all kinds of family-friendly activities.
Besides Community Month, 'Program Komuniti McDonald's & RMHC' also hosts various community events all year long
From Chinese New Year celebrations at old folks homes and Teacher's Day celebrations to honour local educators, to Hari Kebangsaan festivities and even a special event to belanja delivery riders, all these are part of McDonald's Malaysia's mission to leave a positive impact at every level of the community.
