Indonesian beauty queen Aurra Kharishma surely turned heads when she walked across the Miss Grand International stage wearing an outfit embellished with satay
Miss Grand is a beauty pageant franchise based in Thailand and the National Costume Competition took place yesterday, 24 March.
While all of the contestants wore beautiful outfits inspired by their vibrant homelands, Miss Grand Indonesia caught people's attention with her satay dress.
Aurra shared the juicy details of her fabulous getup on Instagram
The mastermind behind the design and concept of the costume was a team from the famous Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC).
In her post, Aurra wrote that the chicken satay is meant to represent Indonesia's rich food culture and its popularity throughout the country.
Dubbed 'The Edacious of Chicken Satay', there are two different variations of the costume and she swiftly switched from one to the other mid-catwalk
Stepping on stage, she strutted confidently while imitating hawkers in Indonesia with the signature red-and-white satay seller shirt and a fan in her hand.
Her skirt appeared to be a grill and she cheekily 'cooked' the perfectly lined skewers on it.
Then, she stopped in her tracks at turned around before revealing that under the skirt, the design was that of a plate of satay, complete with condiments such as raw onions and cucumbers.
