Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur Wins Prestigious Awards In Research And Employee Engagement
The hospital was recently awarded two prestigious awards for their work.
Malaysia Management Excellence Awards (MMEA) recently awarded Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur with two prestigious accolades
With the evolving work environment and the current economic landscape, companies and business leaders have their work cut out for them. Not only must they address challenges faced by employees and stakeholders, they also need to strive to improve employee engagement and management initiatives.
But doing all of these is no easy feat, which is why MMEA — a prestigious programme hosted by Singapore Business Review — wishes to honour and recognise individuals and companies that have gone above and beyond for their work.
Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur is one of them, recently bagging the Team of the Year Award and Employee Engagement of the Year Award at the recent MMEA event
The Team of the Year Award recognises Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur's clinical research team, led by clinical research manager Dr Wong Shin Yee. The team worked closely to conduct clinical trials that aim to improve patient health outcomes, and was published in The Lancet peer-reviewed medical journal in 2020, as well as the Clinical Cancer Research and New England Journal of Medicine in 2022.
Meanwhile, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur's employee engagement programmes like 'Chat with CEO', 'Watch Our Weight', and more, all of which aimed to make a positive impact in their workforce, received a nod from MMEA, granting the hospital with the Employee Engagement of the Year Award.
Chief executive officer of Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Erica Lam, said, "Accepting these awards is really to honour the dedication of the clinical, operations, and management teams because our people are our driving forces."
For Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, excellence isn't just delivering an 11-star experience to patients, having ground-breaking clinical achievements, or getting the management teams to run the show seamlessly — it's all of the above at once
The COVID-19 pandemic was an especially difficult time for healthcare professionals. For Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, however, the pandemic gave them a renewed motivation to engage with employees and do more.
During that time, they not only kept their entire team safe as each day went by, but they were also there for the patients, engaging and caring for them — which reflected the hospital's tagline, 'Caring From The Heart'.
Additionally, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur was the first hospital in Kuala Lumpur to vaccinate government healthcare workers, as well as those from other hospitals
Being the first hospital to expedite the vaccination process for healthcare professionals was of utmost importance to Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, as they knew how important it was for the public to receive their vaccine as soon as possible.
But that's not all Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur did during the pandemic.
The hospital also donated ventilators to government hospitals that did not have enough supplies and initiated the decanting process to lessen the rising burden on government facilities at the height of the pandemic. This was so that government hospitals could continue to treat COVID-19 patients, while private hospitals managed the non-COVID-19 patients' needs.
Established in 1974, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur has been a trusted hospital among Malaysians for close to 50 years, and shows no signs of slowing down
