Tama Shimabukuro has made the jump from competitive skateboarding to elite pickleball, quickly climbing the world rankings along the way. The American, ranked No. 14 in the men's world rankings, is now regarded as one of the sport's rising stars.
8. Alix Truong
Ranked No. 14 in the women's world rankings, American player Alix Truong is known for her strong court coverage and powerful backhand. She'll be among the contenders looking to take home the title in KL.
9. Sahra Dennehy
Australia's Sahra Dennehy, ranked No. 21 in the women's world rankings, brings plenty of international tour experience to the competition. Her all-around court coverage and energetic style could make her a tough opponent.
10. Danni-Elle Townsend
Another Australian standout, Danni-Elle Townsend is ranked No. 23 in the women's world rankings and has multiple titles under her belt. Expect sharp tactical play and plenty of experience when she steps onto the court.
